Pioneer Warehousing & Distribution was founded in Syracuse, NY by Ray Dionne & Jack Thomas. They had a simple belief: Central New York needed a dependable, customer-first public warehouse. Built from the ground up with only 10,000 square feet, Pioneer quickly earned a reputation for reliability, hard work, and strong relationships.
Over the years, Pioneer expanded throughout Central New York, supporting both regional businesses and national brands. The company evolved alongside its customers, building long-term partnerships and a reputation for flexibility and service.
Tom Belge acquired Pioneer and continued building on its strong foundation — expanding services, strengthening operations, and positioning the company for long-term success.
Lisa Conway joined Pioneer, bringing a background in finance and a forward-thinking approach. Her focus on efficiency, technology, and growth helped modernize operations and prepare the company for the future.
Lisa Conway purchased Pioneer, continuing the legacy while forging her own path. By introducing new technology, improving efficiencies, and strengthening operations, she positioned the company for its next phase of growth.
At a time when many were pulling back, Lisa made a bold move — acquiring Arrow Transportation of CNY. What began as a strategic expansion has grown into a trusted transportation division, powered by a team of dedicated drivers who are truly an extension of the Pioneer family.
Now operating approximately 200,000 square feet of warehouse space, Pioneer provides customized logistics solutions including warehousing, distribution, fulfillment, and transportation. We proudly serve businesses of all sizes — from local companies to national brands — while staying true to what has always set us apart: work hard, take care of people, and do things the right way.
A Syracuse University graduate and former Motorola sales executive, Ray turned down a corporate promotion to build something lasting in his hometown. His vision and sales background laid the foundation for everything Pioneer became.
Tom joined Pioneer in 1984 as a warehouseman, rose to VP of Operations, and purchased the company in 2002. His hands-on leadership and deep operational knowledge shaped Pioneer's culture of excellence for over fifteen years.
Lisa joined Pioneer in 2009 and purchased the company in 2017. She has led Pioneer into its next era — acquiring Arrow Transportation, modernizing operations, and growing the company while honoring the people-first culture that has always defined it.
